Rentals in Bali are posted in Facebook groups first. Owners, agents and property managers post a few photos, a price and a WhatsApp number, and the same villa often goes to several groups on the same day. We read 11 public groups to build this site, so we can compare them on what they actually publish, not on their member count.
The figures below come from the listings of each group, after merging the posts that advertise the same place. They change with every update of the site.

How to read it:
- Listings: the rentals posted in the group between 30 Sept and 25 October 2026, duplicates merged. It measures how much a group publishes, not how many members it has.
- Main area: the area with the most listings, and its share of the group.
- Median per month: the median asking rent of the listings priced by the month. Yearly rentals and posts without a price are left out.
- By owner: the share of posts where the poster says they are the owner. The others come from agents and managers.
- Only here: the share of the group’s listings that we found in no other group. A high figure means the group is worth joining even if you already follow the big ones.
Which group for what
Each group has a profile, and it shows in its listings.
For the most choice: Bali Long Term Yearly/Monthly Rentals publishes the most, 431 listings, mostly villas (77%).
For listings you will not see elsewhere: in Ubud Villa Rental Direct by Owner, 73% of the listings were posted in no other group we read.
For direct contact with owners: 94% of the posts in Ubud Villa Rental Direct by Owner come from owners, the highest share. Fewer agents means fewer reposts of the same villa at different prices, and no commission folded into the rent.
For a lower budget: Ubud Villa Rental Direct by Owner has the lowest median, Rp 19.8M a month, against Rp 35M in Canggu Housing. Part of the gap is the area: rent in Ubud is lower than in Canggu for the same home. The cheap monthly rentals page gathers everything under Rp 10M a month, from all the groups.
For a yearly lease: 57% of the listings in Bali Long Term Villa Rentals give a yearly price, the highest share. Yearly rents are paid up front and cost much less per month, see how much a villa costs for a year.
For a room: rooms are a small part of every group. Bali Monthly Room, Apartment, Villa has the most, 11% of its listings. Most cheap rooms are in guest houses and kost that never post on Facebook. The rooms for rent page lists them with their rates.
Groups for one area
Most groups cover the whole island, with Canggu and Ubud first. A few lean on one area:
- Ubud Villa Rental Direct by Owner: 95% of its listings are in Ubud, median Rp 19.8M a month.
If you already know where you want to live, start with the group of that area, then add one or two island-wide groups. The area guide compares Canggu, Ubud, Sanur, Uluwatu and the others.
The same villa in several groups
47% of the listings we collected were posted in more than one group. Owners post in every group they can, and agents repost the villas they manage, sometimes at a higher price than the owner’s own post.
Two things follow:
- Joining ten groups does not give you ten times the choice. After three or four groups, most of what you see is a repost.
- When the same place shows up at two prices, ask who you are talking to. The owner’s price is usually the lower one, and an agent’s commission is often built into the other.
This is the reason this site exists: we read the groups, merge the reposts into one listing and keep a link to the original post, so you can still contact the person who posted it.
How to use the groups well
These tips come from how the groups work, not from the data above.
- Search inside the group with the area and the length of stay, such as “Pererenan monthly” or “Ubud yearly”.
- Post what you are looking for: area, dates, budget, bedrooms, whether you need a pool or a workspace. Owners and agents answer these posts in the comments and by message.
- Move fast on good listings. A well priced monthly villa is often gone within a few days.
- Ask for a video call or a visit before paying anything, and check that the person showing the place is the one you pay. Our guide to rental scams lists the signs.
- Negotiate for longer stays. Three months or more usually earns a discount, see renting for 1 to 6 months.
Or search all the groups at once
Every listing in the groups above is on this site, merged and sorted:
- Monthly rentals in Bali, and the villas by the month
- Long term rentals, by the year
- Rooms and cheap rentals under Rp 10M
- By area: Canggu, Ubud, Uluwatu, Sanur
Each listing links back to its Facebook post. The rent prices page turns the same listings into median rents by area and size, and how to rent in Bali covers the steps from the first message to moving in.
How we built this comparison
We regularly read the newest posts of each public group, extract the rental details with two separate passes that must agree, and merge the posts that describe the same place. Private groups and Facebook Marketplace are not included. A group that posts a lot of non-rental content, such as people looking for a place, can look smaller here than it is. Listings older than 45 days leave the site, so the figures always describe the last few weeks.
