About the figures, how the rent index is built
What is the average rent in Bali?
In October 2026, the median asking rent across the 436 monthly listings on this site is Rp 30M a month. The median is the middle price: half of the listings ask for less, half for more. It moves a lot with the area and the number of bedrooms, so use the figures by area above.
Where do these prices come from?
From the rental posts of the public Bali Facebook groups. Reposts of the same place are merged, then the price and the period are read from the text. Only prices given per month are used here. Yearly rentals and leaseholds are left out because they are priced differently.
Are these the prices people pay?
No, these are asking prices. The final price is often lower after negotiation, especially for stays of three months or more. A median is published only when at least 3 listings are behind it.
How often is it updated?
With every update of the listings. The last one was on 5 October 2026.
